Remembering Our Past

In American Football, there is a time honoured tradition which dictates that players who offer something special, or conjure up their own piece of magic during their career, are immortalised in the clubs history.

At the Wolves, there have been many great players throughout the years who have graced the field showing the heart, desire, respect, integrity and talent which we emphasise as our clubs philosophy. Everyone is respected, everyone is remembered, but for the very select few, a greater honour awaits - their shirt number is retired and can therefore never  be selected by any Wolves player which follows.

Number 55
Name:    Jake Box
Position: Linebacker
Played:    1992-1995
Other information: Selected to GB Bulldogs 3 years running
Went on to play and coach for Cardiff Cobras (one  of the most successful teams in BCAFL history)
Won Warwick University's Sportsman of the Year 1995 (presented by Jim Bowen)

Number 28
Name:    Tony Heeralal
Position: Corner Back
Played:    1993-1995
Other information: Tony only played for two seasons due to a tragic  climbing accident which took his life. Rated as one of the best defensive backs in the league at the time, his untimely death shocked players and coaches around the league, a testament to his playing ability.

Both players are remembered for their attitude and commitment, as well as their exceptional talent and epitomise all that is great about the club we are fortunate enough to represent.
